Kristen Chapron
Kristen Chapron joined iCivics in 2017 as the ELL Project Lead, convening ELL pedagogy and practitioner experts to discuss ways to make civics content, concepts, and academic language accessible to English and multilingual learners. She has collaborated across curriculum and game teams to develop ELL Supports and the Spanish translations for ten games including Do I Have A Right? and Win the White House and continues to work on new EL/ML endeavors for the organization. She is a certified Prime V2 Trained Correlator (WIDA). Kristen gained expertise in content and pedagogy as an editor of Spanish textbooks at Vista Higher Learning. She then worked as a Developmental Editor with a variety of other publishers on print and technology components. Kristen has also taught Spanish at the high school, college, and elementary levels.On Fridays, she can be found channeling her inner Don Quijote as the coordinator of the Spanish playgroup at the Watertown Family Center, singing and using puppets to engage and inspire children.
