Christina joined the iCivics team in June of 2021 and serves as Director of Implementation.

Prior to this position, Christina served as Program Manager for Blueprint Initiatives at Baltimore City Public Schools. In this capacity, she launched and led BMore Me, an initiative grounded in inquiry-driven, community-responsive, and standards-aligned Social Studies curriculum for grades 6-11. In addition to the curriculum, Christina led the design and implementation of the BMore Me Speaker Series and BMore Me Student Showcase, the BMore Me Club, the BMore Me Teacher Fellowship, and BMore Me Student Fellowship for Baltimore City Schools. She also co-designed and co-led a Student Ambassador program for the district, which supported students to use tools of improvement science to create impact projects in their schools, and co-lead the Literacy Networks’ Teacher Fellowship on Virtual Engagement, supporting teachers using improvement science to understand student engagement in the virtual classroom during the pandemic.

Before transitioning to the district’s Office of Teaching & Learning in 2018, Christina taught middle and high school social studies for nearly 12 years for Baltimore City Public Schools and Prince William County Public Schools. As an educator, Christina was honored with the New Teacher of the Year Award in 2008, Teacher of the Year Award in 2010, and a Prince William County Achievement Award in 2011. She was named Super Teacher of the Year by the Virginia Lottery in 2013. Christina has been an advocate for rigorous and inclusive civics education, which included speaking on a panel about engaging young women in civics at President Obama’s United State of Women conference in 2017.

Christina’s career started on Capitol Hill as a member of the late Senator Paul Wellstone's legislative team, and later, Senator Tammy Baldwin's team when she represented Wisconsin's 2nd district. Christina focused on education and other domestic policy issues on both teams. She also served as a federal policy analyst and teacher-in-residence with Teach Plus, where she supported teachers in engaging in federal and state policymaking, particularly focused on the Every Student Succeeds Act.

In her free time, Christina enjoys live music, starting books and sometimes finishing them, going on walks around her beloved Baltimore with her rescued Kuwaiti dog, Caroline, trips to the beach, and spending time with her friends and family.
