Dr. Anderson started his career as a teacher in alternative education. His classrooms have included group homes, drug rehabilitation centers, hospitals, community spaces, and traditional school settings. For several years, Frank led education and mentoring programs for young people involved with the juvenile justice system in Maryland. Frank is driven by a belief that all educators and students deserve the best educational resources and opportunities available.

Frank graduated from American University with an MA in English. He received his PhD in Language, Literacy and Culture from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Frank’s research is in "Rhetorics of Transformation:  how centering the experiences of young people creates organizational and systemic change in education."
