Michael Reyes
Youth Engagement Coordinator
Born in Miami, Florida, Michael has nearly three years of teaching experience in his hometown. Before becoming a teacher, he was a community organizer advocating for immigrant rights at a state and federal level. He also has a strong legislative background having worked in the Florida Senate and worked with local elected officials. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in History and one in International Studies.
At iCivics, Michael will be managing the Equity in Civics Youth Fellowship and building up the Youth As Civics Experts Network. He will be supporting our fellows in finding and using their voices towards their civic passion, a similar experience he went through in high school.
