Peter joins iCivics as a curriculum associate after 10 years as an educator in Chicago Public Schools. During that time he taught Social Studies and English Language Arts in Elementary and Middle School Bilingual classrooms. He served as a member of the instructional leadership team to broaden teachers' pedagogical practices and pursue the best learning outcomes for students. Peter is a firm believer that all students deserve high-quality Social Studies education to better understand their communities and the world.

Prior to teaching Peter was a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic where he worked with local communities to grow and develop small business opportunities. He has a BA in Communications and Spanish from Anderson University, and a Bilingual Educator Endorsement from Dominican University.

When he is not working, Peter loves spending time with his wife and two children. Peter also enjoys playing sports, and passionately supporting any team from Chicago.
