Jon joined the iCivics team as a Curriculum Implementation Specialist in July 2023.

Prior to this position, Jon served as Director of Innovation at the National Youth Leadership Council supporting service-learning and civic education efforts. He is also the founder of Ask Them LLC, a consultancy focusing on youth empowerment and educator development.

Originally from Philadelphia, Jon served as a Field Team Leader in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) completing education, environmental, and disaster recovery projects in California, Nevada, Arizona, Mississippi, and Louisiana. After years of teaching English as a Foreign Language in South Korea, Jon spent years in Cambodia training teachers and serving as the school leader of an education center serving vulnerable families from local communities.

Jon returned to the US in 2015 and has worked with Colorado nonprofits and public schools specializing in youth development, educator professional development design and facilitation, mentorship and coaching of school leaders and teachers, competency based learning, independent reading implementation, human-centered design, and program management.
