Mya Baker
Mya Baker joined iCivics in 2024 as the Chief Learning Services Officer.
Prior to coming to iCivics, Mya led TNTP’s consulting work across 14 states, with a focus on helping educators, schools, and school systems expand access to opportunity. During her tenure as a VP, she grew revenue from $3 million to $15 million in 3 fiscal cycles, exceeding revenue target 2 years in a row. Additionally, she led the Consulting Division’s Portfolio Management Strategy of over $100 million dollars annually across 44 states, including strategy design and implementation focused on revenue diversification and increasing sustainability of our business model.
Previously, Mya served as the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Uplift Education in Dallas-Fort Worth. In this role, she managed five academic teams responsible for curriculum development, academic programming, English as a Second Language support, implementation of the International Baccalaureate continuum programs, and instructional coaching across 40 schools serving over 18,000 students in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex (approximately 250 people over 5 reporting lines). During this time, she was also responsible for the certification of 32 international baccalaureate programs in the district, resulting in the district becoming the largest group of IB continuum schools in North America.
Before transitioning to district-level leadership, Mya served as a teacher and school principal. Mya is a graduate of the University of Texas-Austin (BS in Communications/BA in Government) and earned her Masters Degree in Teaching & Learning from American University.
