Overview

Historians share their ideas. In this lesson, students are introduced to Clara Barton and the American Red Cross. They will determine how Clara Barton’s actions helped others. Then, they will analyze primary sources and share their observations in a four-corners activity. Students will use their observations to answer the mystery question: How are Clara Barton and the American Red Cross civic-minded?
